아트토큰, 헤럴드 옥션과 첫 기획전 '안종연 작가 개인전'

[아트코리아방송 = 김한정 기자] 디지털 아트 플랫폼 기업 아트토큰(대표 홍지숙)은 한국 아티스트들의 국제 미술 시장 진출을 위한 기획 전시의 일환으로 헤럴드 옥션(대표 최진영)과 함께 모하(Moha) 안종연 작가의 개인전을 개최한다. 

전시는 오는 3월 8일부터 15일까지 대치동 서밋 갤러리에서 <Skywalk, Lightwalker:하늘과 빛을 걷는 시간>이라는 주제로 열린다. 

모하 안종연 작가는 그간 자신의 한국적인 조형 어법에 국가와 언어를 넘어선 소통을 자연스럽게 녹여내는 작품 활동으로, 중동 및 이슬람 문화권까지 작품 활동 영역을 넓혀가며, 다양한 국가와 문화권에서 초청 전시가 이뤄지는 등 세계적으로 많은 주목을 받아 온 바 있다.

아트토큰 홍지숙 대표는 “한국 아티스트들을 위해 국제 초청 전시, 국제 경매 등 다양한 글로벌 진출 경로를 확보하여 K-ART의 국제적 영향력을 넓히고 범 아시아 지역으로 활동을 확장해 나갈 수 있도록 지원하고자 헤럴드 옥션과 손잡고 이번 전시를 기획하게 되었다”면서 “이미 이슬람 문화권에서 널리 알려진 안 작가의 전시는 좋은 출발점이 될 것으로 기대한다”고 전했다. 

과학적 신소재의 다양한 매체들을 활용해 전방위적 예술 활동을 펼쳐온 안작가는 그의 작품을 통해 삶과 죽음의 경계에 놓인 인간 존재와 시간, 우주 세계에 대한 동경을 그려내고 있다. 안 작가의 작품 세계를 관통하는 주요 주제, ‘빛’을 중심으로 한 작품들을 만날 수 있는 이번 전시는 도심 속에서 자신의 내면 속 우주를 만나고 일상생활에서 경험하지 못한 새로운 시각적 감각과 무의식에 존재하는 심연의 빛을 발견하는 경험을 선사해 준다.

평론가 김준기는 “안종연 작가의 예술 세계는 예술과 기술, 물질과 비물질, 조형과 개념, 시각언어와 문자 언어 등 다양한 영역과 범주들에 두루 걸쳐있다”면서 예술 영역의 범주를 확장하는 예술가일 뿐만 아니라, 그 경계를 넘어 서로 다른 영역을 이어주는 메신저이자 예술의 안팎을 두루 관통하는 인터 아트(Inter-art)의 영역으로 그 에너지를 무한히 확장한다.”라고 표현했다.

오는 3월15일까지 무료 상설 전시로 운영되는 모하 안종연 작가 개인전의 도슨트 프로그램은 아트토큰 공식 카카오 채널(ARTTOKEN)을 통해 예약할 수 있으며, 온라인 도록은 아트토큰의 NFT 마켓플레이스(투알투, NFT 거래소)에서 열람할 수 있다.

Solo exhibition of the artist of light, Moha Ahn Jong-yeon, to be held

ArtToken and Herald Auction announced that they will be hosting a solo exhibition of artist Moha Ahn Jong-yeon as part of a planned exhibition series aimed at promoting the international art market for Korean artists. The exhibition, titled "Skywalk, Lightwalker: Time for Walking the Sky and Light," will be held at the Summit Gallery in Daechi-dong from March 8th to 15th. The exhibition is designed to provide an experience where visitors can encounter their inner universe in the midst of the city.

Moha Ahn Jong-yeon, who has engaged in all-round artistic activities using various scientific materials, depicts the longing for the human existence, time, and universe world at the boundary of life and death. In particular, the exhibition will showcase works centered on the major theme of "light" that permeates the artist's world of art. ArtToken, responsible for the exhibition planning, stated that "this exhibition was designed to provide visitors with an experience of discovering new visual sensations and the light of the unconscious that exist in the abyss that they may not have experienced in their daily lives."

Ahn Jong-yeon has expanded his range of activities to the Middle East and Islamic cultural areas with his artwork activities that naturally integrate Korean sculptural methods beyond national and linguistic boundaries. He has received a great deal of attention globally, with invitations to exhibitions from various countries and cultural areas. Critic Kim Jun-ki described Ahn's artistic world as "spanning various fields and categories, such as art and technology, material and immaterial, form and concept, visual language, and written language." Kim also expressed that Ahn Jong-yeon is not just an artist expanding the category of art but also a messenger connecting different fields beyond the boundaries and expanding his energy into the area of Inter-art.

The solo exhibition of Moha Ahn Jong-yeon, which is held as a joint exhibition project aimed at the global art market, will be held at the Summit Gallery from March 8th to 15th and will be operated as a free permanent exhibition. The docent program can be reserved through ArtToken's official Kakao channel (ARTTOKEN), and the online catalog can be viewed at ArtToken's NFT MARKETPLACE '2R2.io'. ArtToken CEO Hong Ji-sook said, "Starting with the joint exhibition project with Herald Auction, we will support K-Art's international influence by opening up new channels for global advancement of Korean artists through NFT MARKETPLACE 2R2, which will be officially launched globally in May." She also added, "Various events for purchasing the works of Ahn Jong-yeon and various NFT artists will be prepared throughout the year."

안종연 작가는 1992년 MFA School of Visusl Arts 대학원 석사과정 졸업 후 30여 회의 초대전 및 기획 전시 후 작품활동에 전념하고 있다.
